TESTING YOUR BELIEFS
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The battles we face each day are generally not those against other people. The greatest battles you will fight involves only one person, and that’s the one fought within yourself. Remember you are the world and as such all the world is reflected inside you. Your soul is a compilation of many voices all calling out to you for control. Ever thing you do is influenced by the voices of the demons of your past that battle for your future and shatter your now. In this very moment your mind may begin to wander to other stories and memories that are unique only to you. We like to share our stories that most seem relevant to the memory at hand that comes along when something resembles a situation you are facing. This is a part of your mind looking to relate each new situation to a memory and to test it against past experiences, even if that memory is only a story told to you by someone else. It is because inside you right now live thousands of ghost memories that haunt your house of the soul.
Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Remember your soul is a house made of many stones. Each stone is a block of information given to your by the world you live in. Often these stones have voices that resemble the person who shared this information with you and sometimes even when we dream we see these faces resurface to embody a truth that resembles the person that gave it to you. Our soul is noisy and messy and built up of lots of bad and faulty information that is hard to sort out. I have seen countless people fight over these demon possessions without knowing how to fight them and a person that lives in fear of them is a person that makes very bad choices. At the level of the soul where we are reading the Bible at now these wayward thoughts are the essence of demons. In fact the word “Demon” does not exist until the newer versions of the New Testament. Most Christians fear demon possession but the truth be known that most people suffer from some sort of demon of your past or another. Demons at this level are the voices of things long gone that yet haunt you daily and counsel your mind to make poorly informed decisions.
Matthew 5:15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
The mind is a machine but it is not a simple machine. It is in fact a very powerful super computer that is always looking to find what is right in every situation, but a computer is only as good as the software and information given to it. The information fed into your brain will influence the outcome of whatever decision you are trying to make. Goals and objectives are often misguided by the counsel of ghosts or demons that haunt the machine. Again everything about your mind seeks to find what it believes to be right but the solution is often turned back inward to the person seeking the right choice rather than seeing the solution as it truly is and that often doesn’t involve yourself. But we are all we know and so everything seems to involve ourselves as the saviors of the world.
Have you ever heard of something called “Arrested Development”? No, this is not the band nor the television show. Arrested development is easiest seen as someone who has come to a point in their life that they believe made them feel like an adult. As an adult they felt they had life figured out and this set into place a set of instructions like a computer operating system that is the basis of every choice they will ever make. Certain information was gathered and stored as the core system that all choices will be weighed against and from that point on the house of the soul is formed. In the state of arrested development the person then ceases to grow and they struggle each day, making even the most simple decisions based on the mind of a lost child that does not understand what it means to truly be a man. Most people struggle with this to some degree or another but only some have better resources to call from to base their decisions upon.
1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Remember the Bible is trying to create a man from a beast. The beast is without the light of understanding and howls at the moon (The twilight of Twilight: Vampires and Werewolves in the Bible). But we are not wolves, we are better. Of a man and beast only the beast will bite. I spent a few years consoling both younger and older men in prisons and almost without fail I found myself facing the demons of their past confront me through their eyes and words of the men I spoke with. Most of them were lost to a world formed long ago that is haunted by bad advice and horrible deeds that came into their life far too early to recognize them as the lies they were. Many of the men in gangs seemed to have formed their beliefs by their immediate society that told them they were a man grown when they were in realty still children. Many of them were counseled by other “men” and boys stuck in varying states of arrested development as well. Bad advice is shared as if sage wisdom and the poor child that hears this advice then feels or thinks he is a man too because he can relate to the teachings he gained. I have seen men well into their forties and fifties still thinking and acting as unruly teenagers because of their long term exposure to these ideals that came in to their minds as teens or younger and thus they are doomed to a counsel of the mind filled with faulty ideals. Gang mentality is very rigid and disciplined these days and it seems like very solid advice.

Luke 10:3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
This is the mind of a pack predator where only the strongest survives and thrives. Fast gratification and everything is a possession, this is the main drive of a wolf pack. Mark your territory, protect what is yours, prey on the weak and gain what feeds your immediate hungers. This is all in opposition to what the Bible tells us is true. We are accounted to sheep and not to be as the ravenous wolves. Sheep do not stay in one place. The sheep migrate to feed and to gain the understanding of the fields all around. Sheep obey the shepherd of truth that guides them and protects them from the ravenous attacks of the mind. Truth is the guide that leads us to better pastures and opens the eyes of the blind. Truth is the light that gives sight to the dark world/house of the soul that we live in. And truth’s light breaks down the walls we built up in our service to false kings.
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:
THE WEIGHT OF SIN
The Bible is the voice of God trying to teach you to listen to the truth inside of you, though it’s hard to hear at times through all the screams of the demons of your past. This is the essence of what many Christians have believed to call “Hell“. Ironically the existence of Hell is not something that was ever embodied in the ancient text. The modern image we are taught seems primarily to be a construct of the modern interpretations of the scriptures that are so horribly misunderstood. The ancient Hebrews had no “Heaven” and no “Hell“; it only had the “Sky” and the “Earth” or “Grave“. I have heard the arguments as to the existence of “Hell” but the more I see into the secret truths laid out by God that “Hell” is simply an invention of our own making. The ancients used to have the grave as the last place of those that died without the light. Many Christians say that this was only a resting place until Jesus came to set them free and in a way this is true, but the earth at this level is the soul and elevation of truth is the sky or heaven. In our greater understanding our soul elevates to new heights and our lesser truths then descend deep into the earth. Sin is heavy and the worse the err or righteousness the deeper and harder that truth will fall from the height of grace. This is all about the world inside you where old ideals die and only the new enlightened ideals live as eternal truths that last forever. Remember the world is really you and this is all about sorting out your ideals into baser or higher understandings. So as you build the house of the soul you will have many stones that are not worthy to build up your eternal house with. Your primitive-self is full of many hungers, but all of them are immediate and temporary. The ideals of the higher-self are long term and permanent thus we attribute God as being long term and unchanging. Now look again to the house of the soul built up of many faulty truths. The more something is tested against lasting truths the more faulty they are seen to be. If you build your house in darkness you can only expect faulty workmanship. But once these works are brought into the light of understanding the faultier they are seen to be.
1 Peter 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ
If you have built up your understandings on something as the vanity of beauty you will too soon see that beauty cannot last and only misery waits for such a being. The estate of the soul is very important as it needs to be built on solid truths that will last and beauty is always fleeting from moment to moment. Perfection in the flesh is only an illusion that cannot bring lasting results. We live such a short time and though it comes with a few perks to be beautiful these too often tend to be the bane of your long term dreams. If you build on faulty ground then your future will only be built on broken dreams.
Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
