The Living Universe

Atom: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/atom?show=0&t=1343780787
Definition of ATOM:
1: one of the minute indivisible particles of which according to ancient materialism the universe is composed
2: a tiny particle: bit
3: the smallest particle of an element that can exist either alone or in combination
4: the atom considered as a source of vast potential energy.
Origin of ATOM:
Middle English, from Latin atomus, from Greek atomos, from atomos indivisible, from a- + temnein to cut.

Atom, we often like to think that this word is a relatively new concept as we associate it with nuclear power, but the word and concept of the atom has been with us since about 500BC. In its basic sense it means: Too small to be cut.

The word atom (Atomos) when used as a measure of time is used in the Bible to represent a moment or an exact instant. The word is Greek in origin and the New King James Bible notes the use as:

Moment, atomos (at-omoss): Strong’s #823: Compare “atomizer” and “atomic.” Uncut, indivisible, undissected, infinitely small. The word is a compound of a, “un” and temnos, “to cut in two.” When used of time, it represents an extremely short unit of time, a flash, and instant, a unit of time that cannot be divided. A second can be calibrated to one-tenth, one one-hundredth, and one one-thousandth of a second. But how do you calibrate an atomic second? Christ’s return will be in an atomic second.

1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment (atomos) in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed.

The universe all around you is made up of a powerful energy source. This is not science fiction or some New Age philosophy. This is a science fact. All things are made of atoms, and atoms are not some myth concocted to “lead Christians astray”. Atomic power is a real tangible power source that was not discovered by accident, but by applying the understanding of the atom and its nature and turning into a viable source of sustainable energy. Harnessing the mighty power of the atom is a very complex task, and most people fear this awesome power because we have seen the effects of an atomic blast. The power of the atom is clearly a thing to be feared and respected. An atomic bomb, to us, is a devastating weapon of mass destruction, but that power is only a very small fraction of the energy that is spent by the sun you see in the sky each day. The sun is like a giant reactor of atomic energy, but it is also more than an energy source, it also takes and fuses together hydrogen atoms into the building blocks of all the things we know.

Ephesians 5:13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

We are all built of the stuff of stars. Your every physical attribute is made of a compilation of atoms bonded together into molecules that form your cells, hair, eyes, bones etc. We are made of star dust and we are made of the energy of atoms. The entire universe is made of the combinations of hydrogen atoms bonded together to create a myriad of complex and varying life forms, and physical structures, and the amazing part is, that since the dawn of time not a single atom has ever lost its charge. A nuclear detonation, with all of its destructive force, does not destroy even a single atom. It only changes the bonding’s of the atoms and how they coalesce together.

Living Earth

1 Corinthians 15:37 And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain — perhaps wheat or some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.
Mark 4:26 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28     For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

Mark 4:26 This Biblical passage refers to the assembling and growth of the human conscious soul, but it also references to the growth of your life as a plant. Look at your physical world around you. Look at how a plant grows from the soil. We take for granted the simple things we see and know in our everyday world. But where does that plant come from and what makes it grow? It comes from a simple seed, and it becomes a complex network of cells that reproduce and harness the power of the sun to grow. The plant is simply made of minerals from the soil and it is using the energy of the sun to allow the minerals to combine and form together the plant we know. But that seed and the entire plant are still made of atoms. The same atoms that came from stars, build together upon themselves like some strange and wonderful biological factory that assembles life out the soil. This means that a plant is actually now a piece of living earth as well as living atoms. If this is the case, that means both the earth and atoms now have a consciousness since plants too have a type of consciousness to their surroundings.

Genesis 3:17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it': ” Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life.

Atoms are the same across the cosmos. They behave exactly the same no matter where you go. There is no difference in the atoms that form the carbon that you are made of from the atoms that form the sun, or the surface, or the core of any far off distant world. They only differ in how these atoms bond and assemble together. So if atoms assemble together into a living thing such as a plant, then the atoms then become a living thing, and just as the plants are living elements of earth and atoms, so are we. We are made 100% of what we ingest into our bodies. We really are what we eat. We eat the things that are the thinking and moving parts of our planet. So if we eat the things that are made of the earth then we too are made of the earth. We did not come from some other place outside of this reality. We are humans made of earth, which is made of atoms that were baked together in stars. If you really consider it, we are now the assembled collective conscious parts of the earth. That means that ALL life on this planet is living thinking earth, and living and conscious atoms. We are all assembled of atoms so clearly the atoms must be able to think because we think. We are both the children of atoms, and the children of earth.

1 Corinthians 15: 39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

Bodies Celestial & Terrestrial

The universe is a very large place. Most people cannot see beyond their own selfish lives, so we seldom think about it. We go through our life with a type of blinders on, and we focus on ourselves primarily and then on those we influence directly. We seldom think of entire worlds and star systems outside of our Earth. We may see the moon and stars or the sun, but we do not consider the greatness our eyes behold as it has become so common place to us. We do not ponder our smallness, but rather inflate how important we are to ourselves. We bottle up and compartmentalize our lives, and though we think our minds are open, we are in fact only open to as much as our minds dare to venture. “Why consider anything beyond me?” we might concede as anything greater than our life is basically pointless, and this may rightly be so, but I only pose this to you as a means of opening your mind to an awareness of who and what you are in a greater scheme of things. You are more than a person, you are a soul. You are more than a citizen of the city or country you live in, you are a citizen of the universe. You are a part of something so big and so vast that it cannot fit into a book or even a volume of books. You are part of something greater than the human lifetime can fully comprehend. The energy that fills your body is very ancient and it spans across the depths of time. How that ancient energy started, no one really knows, but it is in every cell and molecule of your being. Because atoms never die, that means that many of us share elements with people that lived long ago. These atoms are so old, in fact, that even in your body right now, you may possess some atoms that were once shared with dinosaurs. The history of your atomic building blocks goes WAY back beyond the creation of the Earth to an ancient lineage that is shared with ALL things in the universe. This again, is not science fiction nor philosophy, but very much a reality.

Hebrews 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Living As One

We are all individuals with our own likes, wants and needs but let’s look at images of our Earth from the outside in space. Though we are all separate people, from a distance we seem to form a type of complex single organism. We cluster together and we serve specific functions and purposes. We each fit into parts of an intricate structure of what we call “society“. But from outer space we are like one organism with many specialized cells. We are much like stem cells that can change to serve the needs of the larger organism. We adapt and fit and fill a specific need. We are actually part of something much bigger than an individual alone. From space, the Earth does not just look like a lifeless round rock, but more like a living thinking life form, and in many ways it is. We are actually the functioning and thinking parts of the living Earth.

Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.

In An Instant

Did you know the moon has a slight vibration to it? It is still rocking from an asteroid impact some thousands of years ago. The universe moves very slowly compared to what we can understand, but if we could speed up the universe to a speed we can relate to, it moves much like the things we see each day in our natural life. It moves in waves and ripples that would take several of our lifetimes to see even a small fraction of its movement. Our lives are so very short and we cannot fully appreciate the full splendor and beauty of the dance of the cosmos and our lifetime is but a small static snapshot of its wonder. So it is hard to fully appreciate and understand its movements. There is a belief growing in science that perhaps the entire universe is actually a single living and thinking organism. What if this was true? What if it was actually a type of living being and we are only a very small part of that life form? What if we are like the flea on a camel’s back, unaware of the camel’s existence, living out our entire lives without ever knowing that the camel was there all around us the whole time?

1 Corinthians 15: 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

The Big Idea

I did not write this article to imply ‘intelligent design’ as a philosophy or as a supposed religion. I only wrote this to awaken a part of your mind. As Christians we believe that God is gathering His elect for a reason. But as a “what if” try and imagine your life as being like a piece of a code in a computer. Each life is a 1 or a 0. Each 1 and 0 by themselves is nothing, but together they fashion together a greater understanding. What if your life too is a positive or a negative? You flow as an enlightened being willing to be a part of everything, or you cling to selfishness and resist change and create a negative flow. This positive and negative flow creates tensions and influences society. The overall consensus of all these energies combined together dictate the avenues that societies steers towards, thus influencing the overall life and accumulative knowledge of the living Earth. Perhaps that is part of our function, to create resistance, or to create harmony. Harmony is not fully understood unless it meets resistance. Resistance creates change. A river flowing without resistance forms channels or ruts and never changes. But resistance creates change and it alters the flow of a river into new and untapped fertile grounds. Change is often destructive but it always makes room for new growth. This is the order of the universe, as with each positive and negative force colliding, new possibilities open with each close, thus creating a type of infinite change and growth through that change.

This life is all about our journey; it is not about our life’s stagnation. Peace tends to breed complacency and a stagnant existence. Resistance breeds chaos and change. We are meant to progress as part of a greater good in all things. Look at the history of the Bible. When there are times of peace life does not progress and oddly enough it often breeds sickness and disorder. Disorder creates a division that leads to unrest, and a need for control that often comes in the form of war. And through war a need for order and peace arises again, thus causing changes that must be instituted to create a new level of order and peace. It is a strange cycle, but sadly a necessary one to create a higher level of understanding and growth. This happens not only on a global scale but also within yourself, and it happens quite frequently.

The Nativity Of Freedom

In the Bible, the yet virgin named Mary becomes betrothed to a man named Joseph, but she has not joining in a physical relationship with him, but yet she bares a son of the Holy Spirit called Jesus.

Mary’s name means: Their rebellion, or simply
rebellion.
Joseph’s name means: To expand or to increase, as in
growth
Jesus’ name means: Savior or Salvation, as in
freedom

This is a mirror of yourself in your spirit. Your life mirrors all aspects of the Holy Scriptures as you too know you need to rebel against your old beliefs and ways of life. And though you are committed to growth as the goal; as if in being betrothal to it; you cannot fully engage or know true growth intimately until that rebellion allows for freedom to be born within you. When you rebel against your old sinful ways with growth as the goal, you find peace and freedom in your spirit and this allows growth to be known. So, a pure (virgin) wisdom of needing to rebel (Mary) can become betrothed (pledged) to the concept of personal growth (Joseph) but it cannot feel nor intimately know this growth until freedom (Jesus) is born in the soul. A pure and innocent rebellion within breeds freedom and peace in the spirit which allows your soul to grow.

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

A Positive Purpose

We as enlightened Christians are meant to be a part of a positive force that creates growth from outside and from within. Our choices; though our own; are actually a key piece of code in a greater global program. Your personal choices affect the people around you thus changing the course of life. But what if you were a piece of missing code? If you exist, your life flows in a positive or negative fashion, but what if you were simply not there? Would that cause an error in the larger program? You are part of something far greater than a person leading your life alone. You are a small cog in the clockwork of the cosmos, but remove that cog and some part of that machine risks malfunction….

This is all just a proverbial theory, and only meant to open your mind’s eye a little to the possibility that your life means more that it seems and God is calling you for a reason.

1 Corinthians 15:28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

  1. You have written a very interesting article here. very informative and it also has an encouraging message about how we are all an important piece of that puzzle. Makes me wonder about all those children that have been aborted and how that changes the dynamics of things. Great pics by the way:)

  2. It’s hard for me to recall who I was before my journey in Christ started, oh yes I remember snippets, moments of awakening and realization, moments so like these in the video where someone somewhere helped me to see the connections we all have with one another. Not only is this article simplistic in explanation, it is deep with faith and miraculous wonders as seen within our own solar system…..wow! Thanks Daniel….you have such a deep and enlightened mind and God continues to bless you with ways of reaching us that struggle to comprehend the mysteries and glories in our lives.

  3. “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance”.

Lord only knows where I’d be without the trials in my life. Really. . . the Lord only knows! I know that I am very much a creature of habit and without the constant resistance in my life, there would be no growth. I would be spiritually stagnant. It is so reassuring to know that God loves me so much that He allows trials in my life to draw me closer to Him. By drawing closer to Him, I then become the resistance someone else may need to change their flow in life.

Wonderful food for thought and a new way to look at our influences in the world! Thank you again, Daniel!
